2012 is said to be the year of Gamification.
Already, companies such as Visa, Samsung, McDonalds or Nike are leveraging game mechanics to encourage their external audiences to engage in desired behaviors. IBM also make use of gamification techniques for internal employee motivation. On the larger social front, there are also initiatives to use extrinsic rewards to motivate the public to engage in positive behaviors.
However, these are just early stage manifestations of gamification, and we believe better ideas are just waiting to be conceived. How can we make Singapore or our daily life more fun?
1) Briefly introduce the concept of Gamification and discuss examples of how it is leveraged; followed by
2) Case study by a local company; then
3) Breakup into groups for a fun-filled brainstorm and sharing activity; and finally
4) Mingle around for a networking session!

Gamification Singapore (gamification.sg) is a newly setup community group that seeks to explore and share about the usage and application of game design or mechanics in non-game context. More importantly, we hope to approach this topic from a local perspective.
